Wow what a good conference! As was expected. And 2 new apostles! I've always been a fan of Elder Gong and now there's a Brazilian apostle so that's neat. The Brazilians in our zone were too happy about it.
And with a new temple in Argentina, we are all super excited! And changing the game with the home teaching program. It's a good move and was time for a change like that. Presidente Nelson knows what he's doing!
I'm pretty bummed because I wasn't able to see the priesthood session. (The priesthood session starts at 9pm) My comp at 6:30 pm told me he was tired and wanted to go back to the pension. And I was like "wut?" and so I sacrificed and went back. Thinking he would go to bed when we got back. But he didn't. He started cleaning and doing other things. I was like "wut??" And then I ended up going to bed early. But as we speak I'm downloading the talks to be able to hear them.
This weekend went by super quick and it was a nice last conference in the mission. I like watching it in English with the other gringos. It's almost like a party and we get to eat snacks and have fun. We had a miracle and one of our investigators went on Saturday so that was good and unexpected. I mean obviously we invited him with the hope of him going but he's the kinda guy that says yes but then doesn't live up to his word. But he's a SUPER great guy. He's from Bolivia. He seems to have real desires for good.
Tell Jensen Ballard I was able to talk to his mission bud Elder Pontelli. He's a super cool guy and said great things about Jensen.
Also I talked to this kid who served with Holly. Elder Cisterna. I had already met him when I started the mission but on Sunday we were able to talk more.
I liked Sister Aburto's talk. I like the way she speaks. I'm a big fan of her.
And I like the way Elder Bednar prepares his talks. He's always been a favorite.
Stephen's mission pres. had one of my favorite talks of the conference. What a man.
Oaks and Pte Nelson also had my other favorite talks. I just want to read them again and study them more.
I went to the conference with some questions and some of them were answered but with the main theme of seeking personal revelation it seems like I'll have to do the searching on my own. But now I have more insights on how to do it. General conf. just gets me excited to live the gospel, you know? We can come out feeling truly edified. I really felt like the Lord is now hastening the work even more and we can be active participants. Like they said in most of the talks, this is the time to prepare to meet God. And the things that they taught to us "will help us to prepare to meet Jesus Christ." What a great promise.
Right now I'm trying hard to be a good leader. I'm learning lots of things and I hope to learn to love more. To let love be the main reason to change. And to finish these last few months super well.
