Little by little // bummers and miracles (April 16)

Ok so I'm in week 6 and on Saturday they will announce what's going to be of my life for my last transfer. If I'll stay, and who will be my companion. I doubt I'll stay together with Elder Escobar for a 3rd transfer because we finish together and I don't think we'll finish together. (Unless they put us in a trio) but idk. It's not super likely.

This week started off great! We did divisions with the zone leaders and it was like full of miracles. I went to their area and we found some cool people to teach and were able to invite people to be baptized and it was like what every missionary loves to be a part of. And while Elder Escobar was with Elder Halverson in our area, they found the family that we've been trying to locate for like a month and they were able to invite them to be baptized too and so I was happy to hear that they found the family and were able to have a good time with them.

Also it was an investigator's birthday, Gonzalo. And he's been attending church for a few months now so we all know him and we decided to throw him a surprise birthday party and we made tacos and watched Coco and we threw it together and planned it in like a 20 minutes but it turned out super successful and other investigators went and it was a great time.

And we also talked with Alejandro, one of our investigators and he said he wanted to get baptized on Saturday so we were like pretty surprised so we quickly taught him everything that he needed to learn, had the entrevista [interview], and cleaned the baptismal font and prepared everything in a day. It was insane! And then on Saturday we went to look for him in his house... but he wasn't there!!! So we were kinda freaking out a little. We asked the neighbors and they hadn't seen him. But after like 20 minutes he comes walking by and we were pretty happy!

So we talked with him and he's like "No, I can't be baptized today. Maybe another day" and we were like "WUT?!" but everything's all set up and people are waiting for you.

(It gave me terrible flashbacks to when I was in Comodoro and this exact thing happened but with Fabian. I'm so done with this kinda stuff.)

But it turns out he wasn't feeling well and went to the doctor and the doctor told him to stay home. So of course we returned to the church and told everyone that Alejandro wasn't coming and it was a 10/10 terrible experience would not recommend.

And also the hermanas in our district have an investigator in Calafate and as the district leaders we were supposed to interview her for the baptism and the hermanas talked with President and he's like "Oh ya for sure and you need to go to El Chalten too to look for some people to teach and also I know Elder Ross asked to go to the Glacier so I give you permission to go" and it was going to be the craziest and coolest thing on the mission but on Saturday the zone leaders were like "ya you can't go." And we were like "but Presidente already told us to go" but then they were like "but we just talked with him and now we're going. Not you guys." And that's the story about how this week was going to be the best week ever and now it's the worst. Looks like I'll never go to the glacier :(((

Oh well. It's probably for something. Just gotta stay humble and positive.

But ya this week started off good and turned out terrible. And now it's raining again and it's started to flood again and it had just dried up.

But I heard Sydney Carlson is going to get baptized so I'm SUPER happy for her! That's going to be super cool! If anyone has a way for me to write her, hmu with that addy or email.

I'm  super behind on my reading of The Book of Mormon but I've been reading the New Testament and it's sick. Honestly I love it.

I gave our neighbor the dessert and she was super happy! I don't know how she's going to progress but for now it's slow. But little by little.
