Rains down, floods up (April 9)

Ok so this week it rained sooo much that it literally flooded the city. It was rough. We got soaked on the way to lunch that was really far from out pension. But we ate empanadas saltenas so it was so worth it. And on the way back we were walking through an empty lot and Elder Escobar says to me that he heard something in a box. So we turned around to go take a closer look. And sure enough, inside the box were 4 little new born puppies. All abandoned and wet. We hurried over to the nearest store and got two dry cardboard boxes and went back to the puppies and put them there. Then we carried them in the pouring rain like 30  minutes to the bus terminal. We got all muddy in the process and it was probably one of the most sad things on the mission. The little whimpers and cries from the little puppies almost had me in tears. I wanted to clean them up and dry them and wait for the rain to stop but we decided to leave them there in the terminal and we told one of the workers to call for help.

After we got to the pension and discovered that water had entered in so we had to quickly clean everything.

Our neighbor is a member less active but from a long time ago and doesn't remember much so we went to see her and see how she was. It was nice because we didn't even have to leave in the rain. After talking with her for some time, her daughter who just came here from Formosa, entered and she's not a member and knows nothing about the church, we were able to have an impromtu noche de hogar and played a fun game and quickly broke the ice with them and it was super fun and the daughter got super interested and that's how we had a missionary miracle amidst the pouring rain. And we didn't even have to leave the pension really.
The other day the daughter brought us some food she made for dinner and last night I made a dessert so tonight I'm gonna give them some of the cheesecake I made. It's a prime situation.

We couldn't find like any of our investigators this week but we also didn't have much time to work because of some other things, including a conference with Presidente and having interviews and other stuff.

We watched COCO and it was SO good! I loved it. Again for the second time this week I almost cried. But it was a good time. Makes me want to do family history work and teach the Plan of Salvation.

And then we had a good conference and I got to see Elder Singh and Elder Ekblad. My favorite asstants. It's crazy that it's my 2nd to last conference. And the next one is in the end of May with Elder Packer, the 2nd counselor of the area.

It's crazy to be at this point in the mission. It's just weird. That's all I can say about it.

But it's a good time. I just want to help other people so much but nobody really wants it so it's rough.

But for now, it's all good.

ps I forgot to add that as we carried the puppies, I couldn't help but think of the story in the New Testament about leaving the 99 sheep for the one lost. It was a good way to really live the experience and how we would do anything to help the lost puppies return home and how Jesus would do anything to help us return to our heavenly home. But it was a love that I could really feel. A good eye opener.

The bus driver told us to buy reflective vests so he could see us better hahaha
