Good Week #50

Ok actually I'm not counting weeks but I'm at about the half way point by now. It's weird. So I'm not exactly sure the day I come home (and I'm not counting down) but it's in about one year from now. Ahhhhh noooo ahhhhh yessss??

Also false alarm, this week wasn't AS cold. It was a nice sweater weather. Actually, in this trio, you could call us the Sweater Squad. Prolly.

So this week was actually really good and lots of stuff happened. I'll try and explain what went down.

This week we had the baptism of Pier Montano! So he's a freshly turned 8 year old in a member family. We actually didn't do anything with him for his baptism but he's the funniest kid and we eat lunch with his family every Friday so we were pretty excited for his baptism! And if you remember, 11 years ago on June 3rd, I was also baptized so we share that special day! Yesterday they called him up to announce his baptism in the ward and he wasn't paying attention and screams out "What?! I have to be baptized again??!!" and I laughed so hard.

Yesterday I bore my 12th testimony in the mission on fast Sunday! That was weird. It's gotten easier I think. I mean at least I'm not writing it down like my first 2 hahah.

We've been starting to go on divisions with a super rad priest that's preparing to go on a mission. He's the coolest guy. He actually reminds me a TON of Elder Singh. Or maybe Elder Singh reminds me of Gabriel. But I wish I had left with the missionaries when I was a priest. Tbh I didn't even know much about it. I remember I left once with them and we ended up just talking to the Tompkins hahaha. I'll probably go out with the missionaries after the mish though so maybe it's ok... better off before though.

So we got a reference from a member that's serving a mission that's from the stake to meet with this kid who writes his friend on the mission every week and wants to know more about what the missionaries do and what we believe. (hint: @all my friends that aren't members of the church, you should talk with the missionaries. Honestly they're probably just like me and it could be a fun time.) So it turns out the guy Ariel is the son of one of our other investigators and we are already teaching his family in the apartment underneath him. And we have other investigators (the Dominicans) that live next door! It's a super coincidence. Actually last night we met Ariel and Roman the Domincan past by the window and saw us and Elder Singh screamed out, "We're always watching you Roman, always watching." hahah but ya and now Ariel might teach us how to dance folklore. So (@my friends that aren't Mormons, meet with the missionaries and teach them how to dance. Or something cool. They'd love it. There's no worries or obligations there.) We actually have another girl that we are "teaching" that wants to cook desserts with us. She doesn't have any interest in learning from us but that's ok because she lives with a member so we pass by anyways.

Today we went to a secluded beach with a member and he taught us to fish. It was bit chilly in the morning but a grand time. I had a ton of luck and within 3 casts, I caught 5 fish. And if you do the math, that means with 2 separate casts I caught two fish each. That's a miracle. Read Matthew 4: 18-20.

And I ended up catching 7 fish, 3 of them were huge, I felt bad because I know we were over fishing by 153% but I couldn't let this once in a life time opportunity go by. Also I'm scared to admit it but I think I'm starting to like fish. I've eaten a couple of fish plates on the mission. At first I hated it but now it's eatable. I am slowing growing ;')  but I still don't like tomatoes which is unfortunate because all Argentines throw tomato on everything. And eggs too but I'm getting over my distaste for eggs too!!!

Today I was also able to see whales which means I've now seen all the cool animals in the mission. Whales, penguins, and sea lions. How lucky am I to be in Puerto Madryn?! I won a prize. We actually only saw their tails and from a distance but it was beautiful. But I mean, luckily we live in So Cal where we can see whales too. But can you say you've seen whales on your mission, probably not so now I have a cool story.

Ok so that's all I have time for this week but I pray you're all good and happy. Enjoying the good parts of life and also the bad.
