Lights and the Thunder- Deorro remix (Conferencia genial stoooookkkkeeee)

Oh my gosh, conf [LDS General conference] is within a matter of hours [days]. I'm almost crying idekw [just figured out this stands for I don't even know why but all you young people probably know that].

Ayyy but thanks for sending the letters of Elder Ekblad and Walker. Super good to read emails from people in my very situation. lets me know to adjust. also ps i feel like their letters are short but good and mine are the oppostite. oops

Anyways jealous of Elder Ekblad. Elder Farabee is a champion and now he has Elder Nelson in his zone too! When I was with Elder Teixeira, he had absolutely 0 ganas to learn English. But good for him.

Alright, so I'm gonna briefly talk about a few things.

On Friday we had our big church activity and so the whole week we went out to find members and menos activos to invite. It was a good time. But busy. The activity turned out REALLY well for having only like a week to prepare it. Honestly the hermanas stepped up their game. And Elder Kidd and Carrasco showed up out of nowhere but actually it was a miracle because Elder Carrasco was literally the life of the party and he made it soooo fun! Best guy. We are already planning more activities in the near future.

Last Monday we went to the "Indio" with the hermanas and it was actually super cool! It's like caves built by the Welsh settlers. I'm planning on having a district meeting there.

Yesterday we went to Playa Doradillo with the zone and spent the day there. Por eso I'm writing on Tuesday.... we explored more caves and I played soccer tennis with Elder Campopiano. Such a good P-day.

After, we visited Hna Hermosilla and we made pizzas with her and taught her about #principedepaz and gave her the new passalong cards we got. Spoiler, they're really Catholic looking. They were watching an old fashioned movie with The Rock in it and I made a joke like "Oh so this is the telenovela 'Moises' that everyone is talking about" because I knew it wasn't, and they misunderstood and were like "Oh you want to watch Moises? Ok" and then they put on Moises and I was like nooooo it was a joke ughhh my lifeee .

Ok so when I did divisiones with Elder Campopiano, we found a miracle named Ruben and he was a recent convert from November but like we didn't even know. He had been planning on calling us the day before but then we called him first! We talked with him and his life is super hard right now. It was a super good experience and a miracle. He even went to church the next day.

Then on Sunday this week he was at church before us and we said hi and everything but then he didn't go to class. (btw we have sacrament meeting last and it's the worst) So we went to look for him outside and he wasn't there. Then we talked to the bishop and he casually says "Oh ya, Ruben wants to pull out his name from the church" and we were like "Yooo bro thanks for telling us that now." And so ya that's really bad and now he haven't been able to find him. That's how my life's going.

So this week I re discovered my favorite sights and sounds. Sights: the ocean. And lightning. This week I got to see both.
Sounds: Thunder. And EDM. This week I got to hear both.

It's these little things that lets me know God loves me. Ya know?

So thunder storms are absolutely beautiful. The lightning just turns night to day. Us So. Californians just don't understand.

At the activity, Macarena put on the music and she's like "oh ya Elder Ross I put EDM on the playlist because I know you like it" and I was like "Wait did I tell you that??" And then I was like "Oh my gosh this is just too much for me."

I had the most interesting lesson yet. Well not most interesting but the power went out and it was dark outside so we taught Javier in the dark. Like pitch black. That was different. But coool. I made the joke when we walked in "Ok now let's turn to the scriptures in Alma" and everyone laughed. hahahah finally a successful joke! I feel like Chris Kluger.

Oh on Tuesday we had the conference with President in Trelew so we traveled. It was a good time to talk with old mish friends. President dropped cane on us hard but hey what's new. He's like "If we're not getting 15 baptisms in Madryn every month you need to repent. You need to go home or you need to build your faith" but fun fact (not sure if I've told you yet) when Madryn was in the mission Neuquen they had an average of 14 baptisms a month and now our average is 0-1. Like I just think that's strange. Like the mission changes and then so do the baptisms???

Ok so I'm super beyond excited for #LDSconf. I've been waiting 6 months for this.
Pres. Monson is thee man. And all the general authorities. This week I've got to think of questions I want answered. I'm gonna put that to the test. Also the first conf in the mish I was more focused on myself but now I'm hoping that the messages apply more to the people I'm teaching. It's crazy how things change in 6 months.

Time's flying honestly.
