Alright so this week's letters to me were especially good. Thanks Mom, Holly, and Rachel for those excellent one liners that had me dead. Rachel did especially well. Rachel wins this week but who's gonna win next week?? hahah Now it's like a competition of who can write me the best letters. So reallly I'm the winner.
Speaking of letters, mine are garbage. I read other missionaries' letters and they're like "I love the mission and it's just such a great time, oh my gosh we had this happen and that happen and wow!!!" and my letters aren't like that. Oops. And it's not even that I'm not enjoying the mission. Because I super am! And I'm looking for the miracles and the good points. And I see how important the gospel is. For sure! But for some reason my letters just don't convey that. So sorry to all. Just know that I know that. I don't want to make excuses but I think if I had like 3 hours to write, my emails would be better than everyone else's. #stillhaventlearnedhumilityyet hahahh Just kidding but this short email time is a real killer. Oh well, I'll just have to tell you guys in person when I get back. I write in my journal everyday, so I'll know what to say.
So these coming weeks have been, is, and will be strange. Yesterday was a holiday and we didn't have power in the morning so we weren't able to write, then we said bye to everyone who was leaving, then Elder Rojas and I played ping pong and soccer for a bit. We are both pretty compatible with both ping pong and soccer. It's a good time. Then we went to Trelew to pack up his old stuff. Because he's staying this transfer!!!!!
Then tomorrow I'm going to Comodoro for a leadership conference thingy. Tbh I don't really know what's up. Just that it's for new leaders such as me. It should be a good time. I'm hoping I see Elder Crawford and can say bye to Elder Lopez and Elder Moralez before they leave.... it's gonna be a nice little vacation hahah. A little trip, that's all.
And for the last weeks, we were preparing Javier for his baptism and on Tuesday, we got a call from the assistant asking if we were going to get the nivel de excelencia [standard of excelence]. It's like a reward if you teach a certain amount of lessons and have a baptism that week and other stuff. Anyways, something clicked in me and we got super pumped to go out there and get it. And we worked like negros. Oh shoot me writing that sentence makes me realize how racist that is... it's like a normal phrase here ooops. Anyways we worked HARD. We weren't gonna return to the pension without 5 lessons a day. Which btw is ridiculously hard. It requires good planning. And we did it for like 2 days until Friday we had Javier's interview and well, he still needs preparation. Apparently a lot. So just like that the Nivel de Excelencia dream this week was torn from us. We still worked hard but like without the real desires. Idk it was rough. But tbh the Nivel de Excelencia was causing me high key anxiety because it's really hard to get so I think I was a bit better when I found out that we couldn't get it. If that makes sense.
Anyways, so that's that's. Javier didn't get baptized.... gosh darn those mandamientos palabra de sabiduria and ley de castidad ughhhhhh real killers. [word of wisdom and law of chastity. He is being ironic]
Elder Rojas and I work well together. Just like in everything. He's super fun and we are getting along well. We have the same ideas and desires and he's at least helping me a lot. And with my Spanish too. I think my goal is to have all native speaking comps minus Elder Ekblad and Elder Crawford. That's the plan. Also I don't know what it is but all my comps from Buenos Aires just keep telling me stories of when they got robbed. It's strange.
Oh I forgot. On p-day last week we went to an aluminum factory where a member of the ward works. We took a tour with the hermanas in our district. It was a cool experience but a little boring haha. It's called ALUAR if you wanted to know. It was nice to sit back and be taught though. I'm not too used to that hahha #missionlifebelike
Anyways, so I'm super excited for #LDSconf. La conferencia genial! I'm stoked.
The mission is good. The gospel is everything. I'm happy. 1\3 done with the mission and went flying. Book of Mormon is always lit.
See you soon
Oh btw the title is from a shirt I saw on the street. I laughed. And the r3hab remix is part of my edm life.
