Ok so busy week full. Very different week. Elder Rojas came on Monday and Elder Nunez and Elder Peterson left to go to Comodoro, so Elder Campopiano stayed with us for like 3 days. It was good to have him to kinda break the ice a bit easier with Elder Rojas and to ease into the change. Honestly trios are pretty cool. I wouldn't even mind being in one permanently.
Oh ya and BTW I'm actually district leader. It's a rough life. I had like -10 idea what I was doing in district meeting but luckily the district is just us and the hermanas so like it's a tight group.
Also I had to give my first baptismal interview and I was pretty nervous but it went real well I think. Luckily I knew Macarena [the lady he was interviewing] pretty well already and so it wasn't like awkward or scary. I thought it was gonna be short but it lasted like 30 minutes so that's good I think. She's really cool so it wasn't like I had to do that much anyways.
Being ''senior comp'' with Elder Rojas doesn't exist. He's teaching me a ton. p. ej. We looked through the whole area book and found a ton of antiguos that we can visit and menos activos and he's like ''no we have to talk with the bishop to find out who we can teach and to build a good relation with the other members'' and like wow, I just would never have done that on my own. He came pre-trained. Or at least Kaden trained him real well hahah. Spekaing of Kaden, Elder Rojas called him one night just to see what's up and so I ended up having a cool talk with him on the phone. Literally the first time I've talked to him since the airplane like 8 months ago. Also with Elder Kochevar. It was fun.
We had the baptizzm on Saturday so like the whole day was spent setting up for that. Cleaning the font, inviting and bringing members, less actives, investagatores. It was super cool that Macarena asked me to baptize her. The font didn't fill up all the way so we had to do it kneeling down, so that was a first, but it went well I think. Also Elder Kidd baptized someone in Barrio Roca so it was like the good old days in Rio Gallegos.
Yesterday, Macarena invited us and like 6 other missionaries in the zone over for a Merienda (tea party) and we all shared our conversion stories. It was a good time. Honestly best part of missionary work. Drinking mate cocido and chillin with good friends (including recent converts of 24 hours) and talking about the gospel.
We are preparing for a baptism this Sunday with Javier. He wanted to be baptized Saturday with Macarena but like he had smoked a cigarette like that day so like he defs wasn't prepared. We are working a lot with him so he's great. He really wants to be baptized, and seeing Macarena be baptized filled him with desires. We'll see how things go this week, but it will be Elder Rojas's first baptism so that will be really cool.
Elder Rojas is seriously the coolest guy. So great and funny. He's so full of faith. We'll talk to someone on the street and he'll be like ''they are so ready for baptism--it's gonna be great." So many ganas to teach and preach the good word of the gospel. He's super bold too.
Last night we walked along the beach to get to an appointment and it was filled with people drinking mate and it was sunset and perfect temperature and such a lovely Sunday night. Ughhh it put me real trunky but I'm chillin I guess. It was weird to see the sun set on the OTHER side of the beach. Like the ocean just kinda gradually grew darker instead of turning orange and gold like in Cali.
