HAPPY HALLOWEEN YALL
So let me continue with the crazy week we had.
Last on: "Colin's Crazy Week´´... Fabian fled from his baptism and we weren't able to find him.
Now: So we found Fabian after our mess. And he was like, "Sorry about that. I still want to get baptized tho" so we kept visiting him this week.
So remember how I said that Elder Salinas cuts hair? Well he offered to cut Fabian's hair on Wednesday and he agreed. We went to the church and started to cut the birds nest that was Fabian's long and unkept hair. (And remember how I said that Elder Salinas doesn't cut hair very well??) Well I kid you not, after about 40 minutes, fabian gets upset about how bad his haircut is and says he doesn't want to get baptized and leaves!!!! Halfway through the haircut. Not even finished.... hahahah we all laughed about it after but during the moment it was tense hahah. Hermano Rebolledo helped us out a lot but also we laughed a ton too.
This whole story is wild...
So we obviously talked to Fabian to find out what was up and he was chill. He was like, "Sorry for what I said. I still want to get baptized. I was just angry." And so the baptism was back on!!
So other story, this week we were in and out of the doctor's office because Elder Salinas's back hurts. And I'll try and explain that later but anyway we had a the baptism at 6 and an appointment in centro at 4:30.
But... we made it on time to the baptism. That was good. But we check the baptismal font thinking it was still full with water and .... IT WAS EMPTY!! With less than an hour to the baptism, we and a couple other elders started throwing buckets of water to fill it up as fast as possible. Whatever water that was available.
I went to look for Fabian at his house and he was there. Luckily. And we went to the church. We got to the church and the font was pretty much filled to the brim. That was good.
The baptim started like 40 minutes late but it started. It was going well. Fabian was dressed in white. He and Elder Salinas get in the font and the water is ICE. Fabian steps in and is like "it's SUPER cold" and starts to falter. He takes no joke like 10 minutes to get in the font. I couldn't even look. And then he had forgotten how baptisms are so they had to explain it again for like 5 more minutes. And then Elder Salinas performs the baptism and by the grace of God he did it first try (if he had messed up I think Fabian would've died). Fabian comes out of the water and starts choking. But bad. He said that his lungs hurt and everyone was just super nervous. I'm still not looking but I could hear and feel it. Fabian gets out of the water and not even joking, Elder Salinas jumps back in the font and starts swimming around in front of the members.
After like another 30 minutes of changing, they both finally came out. It was pretty uncomfortable because like everyone was waiting in the chapel for them to come out and Elder Tavares was playing the hymns on the piano and I think he played half of the hymn book. He played sooo many hymns. Elder Rojas made a joke that they'd need to make the 210th hymn because he was going to play all of them.
But then the rest of the baptism went well. And after there was a movie night and they watched Despicable Me 3. I only saw the second part because during the first part we were teaching our other investigators (the ones from Peru) that are having problems. Well she's pregnant and now they're having couple problems and they want us to be their counselors. It went well actually. They said they wanted to start being more active in the church. And now he's 18 so they'll be able to marry each other and Marta can get baptized...
Now to tell about Elder Salinas:
So pretty much his whole body always hurts him. He's always complaining about some part of his body but more recently it's been his back. He's fine. But we went to the doctor's to check it out and they've been doing some tests to see what it is. All the members think it's his weight. He's been gaining lots of weight. So this week I've been waiting tons in the waiting room. I was able to start and finish "Our Search for Happiness." I love M. Russell Ballard but tbh it's an aight book. I might recommend it to a friend. Maybe.
We got a reference from a cool member who's preparing to serve a mission and so we found him and taught him and taught pretty much all the lessons. In one. He had lots of questions. And then after we made an asado. Perks of the mission. He'll probably be the next baptism. I feel it. He's a good kid.
Also we did service with Hno Rebolledo in his business.
And I found out that my friend in Puerto Madryn got his mission call to Lima, Peru. So that's cool. I'm happy for him.
That's the letter this week. This week we'll find out transfers. SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO?
