We Dem Newell's Old Boys

Ok so this week went well.

We painted Hno Rebolledo's business as a district. It was a good time. I love painting.

This week we taught Rodrigo the Word of Wisdom. He's struggling in school so I made him a promise that if he read The Book of Mormon and lived the Word of Wisdom, he'd do better on his test scores (like in the conference). And do you know what happened next? He said no. He said he didn't want to do it. And then he gave some bogus response about how he wants to focus more on his studies than obey the Word of Wisdom. It just didn't make sense. I feel like Elder Moreno from the district when he says "I get stressed out when I feel like I'm explaining something well and the investigator doesn't understand." I'm so done with these mentirosos. [liars]

And we were supposed to have a baptism with Fabian this week but he didn't attend so we postponed it for the 14th but he didn't attend church yesterday and he PROMISED us he was gonna go. We went to his house, we gave him a shirt and tie and everything and we went to his house before church and he wasn't there. I'm SOO done. That's my whole mission in one sentence.

And it's worse because then yesterday the ward talked about how they haven't had baptisms in like 7 months.

This week la hna Tames met with us explaining that they are having more family problems and Marta wants to go back to Peru. But we have to help her find a place to stay for a week or two. And her abusive boyfriend wants her to stay. And it's more because she told us she's pregnant this week.
What will Elder Salinas and Elder Ross do next? What will happen with Marta? To be continued on this real life telenovela.

Colin Ross

I bought myself a jacket from Newell's Old Boys, the soccer team in Rosario. Tori Whitworth should know it well. Elder Gonzalez made me a fan. haha. It was cheap so I had to buy it.

I asked Elder Salinas if he was Bolivian in the photo with the beanie and everyone laughed. It was a good joke and it landed.

Elder Salinas and I actually went out like that because it was cold and windy and some drunk guy asked if we were spies. Gotta love the mission.

I'm looking at the man in the mirror. I'm asking him to make a change.

(Ok so we finally got  mirror in the bathroom and it's heaven.)
