Gotta love those one liners from #LDSconf. Actually just the whole experience overall. What great messages this year. For real. I got all my questions answered and enjoyed all of the messages and music. They even put "Consider the Lillies" in there. ;)) What a great uplifting experience this weekend. There's nothing better than GEN CON.
When Pte Uchtdorf said "What is night? Night is nothing more than a shadow." Blew my mind. I feel like Rachel would appreciate that.
I was actually wondering (not really doubting or anything) about why President dropped me as district leader and why he's choosing leaders that just aren't good. (Not Elder Singh. He's doing a wonderful job). But leaders that are disobedient and stuff like that, and then the conference just answered my questions and dropped the cane on me a few times. But I learned and thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked the line by Elder Koch about not being finished products. It reminded me of Surfs Up when Cody's building the board and Big Z is rushing him and Cody's like "A little rough?! A little rough?? It's a work in progress bro.." It made me think about how really no one is gonna be perfect and we are all on the path to perfection.
Elder Zwick's talk was too good also.
I loved how one of the major themes of the conference wasn't just about listening to God and obeying his commandments, it was about listening to his servants and obeying them too. Elder Parrella and Anderson's talks were excellent.
I thought Ballard's talk was interesting and super direct. He says it clearly.
Hallstrom's talk about miracles knocked it out of the park.
I also loved the major theme of trusting in the Lord and not in ourselves. Rasband's talk was a personal favorite. It also answered questions. And Pingree Jr.
I also like the theme of ETERNAL PROGRESSION. Loved it this conf.
Elder Salinas said he didn't like general conference and that it was boring but i guess that's his loss right? At least I enjoyed and learned from it. Now i just have to put it in practice. The hard part.
But for now here's two reasons why we should turn to the Lord. And it's a promise from President Uchtdorf.
1. Your life will be better.
2. God will use us to make someone else's life better.
What a promise. Proverbs 3:5-6
And I loved how they repeated the words of Pte Monson and The Book of Mormon. Hay que leerlo. You have to read it.
And the story about Elder Nelson in China was super rad.
Honestly I just want the WHOLE world to hear the words spoken in conference. And I want to read and study them YA. YA YA YA!!! Send me the Ensign asap.
Elder Ross
ps this week I almost got stoned with rocks but it was like a Samuel the Lamanite kinda deal and I didn't get harmed. Blessings.
Oh and Elder Singh got his companion. It's Elder Spencer from Utah!! He's pretty chill and I'm happy he's in our district.
