IT WILL RAIN

Well this title is real misleading because it only rained like once this week and I'm not that sad. But I saw the sheet music for the song in the pension and now it's in my head....

Wow, is Halloween today?? Honestly I forgot about Halloween too! I was gonna be Teixeira for Halloween but it's too much work and he's not even gonna be here to see it...

I guess the big news this week is my new comp, Elder Gonzalez! (btw he's not Porteño. Actually none of them are porteño minus Nuñez. He's from Rosario. Which fun fact I didn't know... Rosario isn't a province! It's a city in Santa Fe! I guess you learn stuff every day, huh?)

So Elder Farabee told me Monday my new companion speaks English a bit and that he was cool. Then Elder Kochevar was going to Comodoro so I saw him in the  terminal and he kept going off about Gonzalez. They were boys in Ushuaia, apparently.

Anyways he's SUPER COOL! Like just super normal cool! Both his trainers were previous assistants, and his now Farabee is a zone leader. The type of people his comps are means that I should be going up as zone leader pretty soon, right?

He's just super solid. Like for comp study he plans something totally inspired for me and then the second half is just him pretty much bearing his testimony to me about some aspect of missionary work. Like one day he's like, "Ok, we are going to practice phone calls" like he knows my weakness already! And then for comp study we practiced phone calls, or a lesson in the street, or something like that. One day he just had me get out my photos (which he had already seen) and had me explain all my friends to him. Honestly I think my Spanish jumped up a little bit that day. I mean I'm still understanding only like a tenth of what people say to me still but it's gonna get better with him. And he knows basic vocab in English so if I have a question I can just ask him. Or sometimes I try and describe the item or word to him. He also is really trying to learn English so he asks me what words mean and then I have to try and explain in Spanish and that's hard too. Also even with Kidd I was like forgetting English so now I'm not even sure of the words I use and don't use.

Tuesday was ROUGH! Like just an all around bad day. I didn't know him too well yet and I didn't know who we could see, and then nobody was there when we got there so it was basically spent the whole day walking around and me feeling bad for myself. I've been re reading my journal from like the first weeks with Kidd and I think the word I used to describe myself were "dead weight" and "worthless" because like I didn't understand ANYTHING but now I think I'm just "inadequate". Like I feel like I'm not good enough to show him the area or explain who we are teaching to him, or things like that. Honestly it's so frustrating not being able to express myself. Like I'll try and explain something it just doesn't work or make sense and I end up just cutting my sentences or thoughts short.

It went on like that for Tuesday and Wednesday with no real luck and it was just a bad adjustment period but now its aight! Like it wasn't a smooth transition but now it's all put back to normal. Or seemingly normal. I mean even the first week with Kidd, looking back, kinda sucked. Then the rest was sailing.

It also sucked because like I missed Kidd and Teixeira more than I would've realized. Like it was weird. I would walk past a place where Elder Kidd would always make a joke and I would just get sad. Or something would happen in a lesson or something and Elder Kidd and I could just look at each other and laugh or something but now it's not like that. It was just sad. But I'm not crying because it's over, I'm smiling because it happened. hahahah But for real now it's time to make some good memories with Gonzo.

Gonzalez is super cool and super great so he's just up for anything. I'm learning a ton with him and my Spanish is slowly improving.

Crawford's comp is cool too! Seems like we lucked out BIG!

btw Crawford and I played ping pong one day and he and I are pretty even so it's fun to pong with someone who takes it as seriously as I do. I think we are going to play today a bit. He's gonna try and buy a paddle and balls.

Also Elder Ixcot, my new ZL from Guatemala told me that Kaden is training someone???? Like out of nowhere he told me that but I didn't believe it! If so, he's a stud! I'm impressed. But ya I don't know if I can believe it. Like it's unheard of!

I think that's mas o menos it for this week! idk I'm prolly forgetting something big.

Love yall

Chau chau chau for now.

Elder Ross

Ohh also this girl from Buenos Aires told me I look like I'm from Cordoba so that's two comments like that now.
