2 Months In Already!!

Well happy 2 months as a missionary today!! It's crazy I'm already 1/12 done with serving a mission. Some days are slower than others but overall it's been way fast. Estamos reocupado acá.

I just want to start again by thanking everyone for ALL of the letters and support and pictures. Keep em coming por favor. Makes my weeks.

This week I've come to the conclusion that missionary work is basically just going around the whole city to all your friends houses and being like "Hey, let's hang out on Sundays" and then Sunday comes around and they're like "Oh sorry I was busy" but then you keep going back to invite them the next week because you love them and want to hang out with them not only on Sundays but forever with their families.

This week it snowed a pretty solid amount on Tuesday and the snow stayed for the rest of the week except it was dirt nasty and icy and it didn't look as good when it first snowed. It didn't snow the rest of the week but it stayed cold. The snow finally melted away but it snowed a little on Saturday night but it didn't stick. The weather has been not too bad yesterday and today seems like it's gonna be the best day I've been here, weather-wise. I hope. This week was more manageable.

We did service to a different lady on Saturday and I got super cold again but only because we were kinda just chilling outside and not moving around too much. For service we basically just picked up trash and a TON of dog poop. The usual here. Anyways, Elder Teixeira had the idea to light the trash on fire and that was a pretty good time. We filled about 3 big trash bags full of dog poop. The whole time I was thinking of in Surfs Up when the little girl is like "[Tank] is a dirty trash can full of poop". #true

The food is always good here. Some stuff is better than others but everything has been edible. And I'm picky. They feed us SO much here. Like I'm getting to the point when I'm having a hard time swallowing because I'm so full and then they bring out dessert and it BARELY goes down. This has happened multiple times. Sometimes I'm worried it's all gonna come back up onto the table. I'm praying for a bigger stomach.  But of course I'm super grateful for the food and I love it all. The members are literally keeping us alive. Although 98% of the desserts we've had have been ice cream and I'm not really sure why... it's the middle of winter and snowing and they love their ice cream. I do too. Also ice cream is easier to keep down than solid food too. I'm happy.

Another thought that I've had here: in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, why is Harry trippin so hard when he first sees Sirius in the park? There are like 1000 dogs here that look scarier than Sirius and they don't do anything. (it makes for a cool movie scene though)

Ok, for the spiritual stuff...

We went contacting one day with the worst luck we've had. Nobody was home or they would just shut the door, but some lady told us that we should leave the neighborhood and two ladies came over and were like "You haven't had much luck here and you're not going to, so stop trying here" and one guy was like "Look for work somewhere else" lol. But what they didn't know was that I had read in Alma ch 8 that morning and I wasn't gonna stop until they spit on me or threw me in prison. I was going to cry repentance to the people of Ammonihah err... Argentina until they softened their hearts. (and when I say "I" I mean "Elder Kidd" because I still can't say much...)

Anyways, the children's song "Scripture Power" is totally 100% true. Good song.

I'm already in Alma 30 so I'm on good pace to finish it soon. About half way done!!!

That's mainly it this week.

Also I get the impression that you guys think I'm miserable and dying and everything but I'm not. I'm actually having a good time here and I love it. Way cool experience and lots of fun. Learning a ton. Don't worry about me. I'm chillin.

Also look up "Nunca Pense" by David Archuleta and also some combo song thats mixed of Come Thou Fount and If You Could Hie to Kolob. Good stuff. We heard it in a member's house...If You Could Hie to Kolob is actually a way good song--I don't know why I haven't heard it before my mission...

Love you all
Keep killin it in the real world.

Doing service, cleaning poop, freezing cold, having fun. This is the crew!!! The new fam!!

I'd be lying if I said I didn't laugh out loud when I saw that "Pledge" was called "Blem" here lolool

I call this one "Argentine Gothic" (my hair was doing something weird that day...)

"A day without laughter is a day lost"

This is a way cool mural in our area and I love walking by it. It's a good reminder.

Ok disclaimer!! I took this photo with a minion to send to my friends that hate minions. I in no way like minions nor associate myself with them except for this photo.

Having dinner with Hermana Vega. She's like 23 and has a baby but is divorced. We made Venezuelan arepas with her. They turned out kinda weird but it's fun.

The church building at night.
