Happy birthday Harry Potter! Thank you for everything you've done for us.
Ok so this week was good. It started off great and we taught a lot. It's super easy to start teaching using The Book of Mormon (the initiative in the mission now) but Elder Salinas, bless his heart, just rattled of the restoration every time and he literally mentioned in his contact that Joseph Smith had lots of wives (I almost died laughing when he said that) and also that we have the gold plates in Utah. It was rough because I then had to explain that it's not true and it made us look super unprofessional. I don't even understand like why it was necessary to teach that. I think it's just that he's so eager to teach that he teaches everything he knows at once. But like, I tell him that it's not necessary but he still does it. We do lots of practices. It's kinda cringe worthy.
We had a ward noche de hogar on Friday that we were in charge of and I had to plan everything and teach everything. It went pretty well though. We were all happy. And the members thanked us. It was great. We explained the importance of prophets and to show it we played "telephone" to prove the apostasy and it was super funny and it worked well. And Elder Salinas explained a different game after and it was SOO funnny.
Also some members invited us to an asado and there was so much meat I think it's against the word of wisdom. It was real good though.
Also we are trying to get to know the members more and to gain their trust so we are offering to do noche de hogares in their homes. We've only done a few but it's a good time.
Also Elder Ekblad surprised me and came to church on Sunday. It was so weird but great. He had to come up to do tramites or something. I think I'll see him today. 2nd time in a year. It's a good start.
Here's a good talk. I love general conference and have been reading the past conference talks. This is from october's conference I think. I sent it to Matias, from Rio Gallegos, because he sent me an email expressing doubts. I LOVE it. I always think of this talk.
Thankful for the plan of salvation, prophets, trials in our lives, and The Book of Mormon.
