Happy Spring! I'm three months in!

Hope everyone has been having a good spring so far! It's been way nice!

Hey everyone, meet my new comp!!! Elder Crawford! That's right, I've been with Elder Crawford so much this week. At least 2 hours of divisiones every day with him. For 2 or 3 days I was with him the whole day. It's actually a wayyy good time! We get our work done and we have a good time. We do our work with flying colors! Or I guess you could say falling with style colors. But for real we put 1 fecha and I re put a fecha we had and we have like a real good amount of contacts and lessons. Honestly we'd be fine if we really were comps. And also it feels good to be the senior comp because it's in my area and so I know everyone we teach and can choose who we go to and such. It's a good time.

On Saturday night there was a HUGE parade down the Avenida San Marin and the streets were shut down and basically the whole city was either IN the parade or watching the parade. It was LIT in every way! The parades here last forever. We didn't even watch it but we saw it as we walked past. The parades don't even move much. They just stand still and have crazy cool drum circles and dancers. Also the parade was at night and America has been doing it wrong because night parades are so much cooler!! And it's more of a festival than a parade. It was a good time walking past it. It was for the primavera and I think Day of the Student too. No sé.

So on Monday, Elder Galeano left us for Tolhuin. We were all pretty sad. He's wayy cool. But the only flight to Ushuaiah was from Buenos Aires or something so he flew to Comodoro and then to Buenos Aires and then back to Ushuiah and then I guess drove up to Tolhuin. What a crazy mission we have. But yeah anyways we miss Galeano. I'm living the Gale-life in Galefornia. But now I'm here in Rio Gale-egos. "Me gusta dibujar vehiculos, viste, futbol es mi vida, viste, en guarani ugh come se dice uhh viste real madrid." That's basically Elder Galeano in one sentence if you wanted to know. It's different though because I'm saying that in his voice and it's really funny but for you guys it's just words.

Alright so we did service this week with the lady with the crazy dogs. or the crazy lady with the dogs. We built a fence and Elder Crawford and I dug up a pole that was impossible to pull it. We did it eventually but it took a ridiculous amount of time. The whole time I was expecting to pull up dog bones. Not even joking! There was a cat corpse laying around too! So nasty! Que asco en serio.

Ok I don't know who said to talk to the kids here to practice my Spanish! They talk soo fast and just insult me and I don't even know what they are saying at all. They all talk in vos too and it's a little different. I'm not used to it. And they don't say things like "de donde es" they say "de que pais vos sos" and stuff. It's just different. In Spanish "I love you" doesn't translate directly. They say "Callate la boca Jil" and I think that's more beautiful.

Also instead of saying Mormon Helping Hands they say "the hands of the Mormons that help" and that's different.

Ok here's the story of the week!!!!

So last night I was with Crawford, as usual, and it's about time to head back home, and I get a call from Elder Kidd and he tells me that Elder Morales, our zone leader, is gonna call me soon and that we should get back to the pension immediately and that if he asks, I should say that I'm with Kidd. Well I'm like, ok sure whatever that's easy. I just figured that Kidd was gonna meet us back to the pension. So we get back and Kidd isn't there and Morales calls and I'm like "ok Elder Kidd's not back and I'm low key freaking out" so I kinda stall and say that I can't hear him/ understand him (which was the truth but also it bought me some time to think) and he asks me where my companion is and so i tell him he's with  me. Which is only a half lie because for the day, Crawford was with me so I felt justified kinda. But then he asks if he could talk to him and by now I'm like running over to Crawford like "WHAT DO I SAY?! Kidd isn't back yet!!" and I didn't want to say that he was in the bathroom because that just straight up would be lying so I kinda just told him the truth that I was with Crawford and then I hear a bunch of laughing and they're all on speaker and they're like "Che I'm with the zone leaders for the night. It's a broma!" And they all bust up laughing and on the other side of the line I'm like crying basically.

Like how could they DO me like that!? I didn't even know where Kidd was or what was gonna happen and i didn't want to betray my comp and get him in trouble but also I didn't want to lie so they put me in such an uncomfortable situation. Like if they knew how I felt why would do they do something like that!? Anyways I passed! I still can't believe them. I was like peeing my pants over there worrying about my eternal salvation and they're laughing about it. Of course it's a super funny good time and i love them tons. hahahah The mission is a good time!! Love everyone here. Elder Morales promised me a big hug today so we´ll see.

Ok so for the spiritual aspect I've been reading the Book of Mormon. Again! It's a real good time! I wish I had more time to read it honestly. Like an hour is not enough, especially now that I'm reading it twice at the same time. I'm only on like 1 Nephi 11.

This week, Crawford and I watched a movie called "The Book of Mormon: How Rare a Possession" and it was like REAL good! Parley P. Pratt is THE man! Like wow so cool! And Vincenzo di Francessca! I've decided I want to learn Portuguese or Italian after. Just for fun.
But for real the church just kinda makes sense. Like it's super logical and just super true. But also most of it is just faith.

I think that's most of the week

Love Elder Colin Ross.

Oh also I got bit by my first dog! But actually I got off lucky and it was just my pant leg. Also the dog was psycho and opened the front gate to bite me and run across the street. Also I almost got mauled by Beethoven, the huge Saint Bernard. He like charged us and we booked it out of there. I was the one closest to him. The dog was like as big as a car. I swear.

It's all good here in the Patagonia though. It's spring!
